MUTE TRIES EVERYTHING - AT STARBUCKS [PART 12]

How're you all doing ? I hope all of you are safe & healthy!

Still on our self quarantine, I bought Starbucks and brought them home. Here in Indonesia, the government still managing the social / physical distancing rules so all restaurants are still not allowed to open for dine in.

Here's what I bought for my second Starbucks' home edition:

COLD BREW COFFEE (tall - IDR 41K) & SPRING SEASON BLEND SAKURA DARK ROAST WHOLE BEAN COFFEE 250g (IDR 160K)

Cold brew has a very simple coffee making method as the most effective solution to avoid watery coffee. Cause you only need to mix them simply and put them in a refrigerator afterwards. Pour it on one cup of ice every time you want to drink it.

Starbucks' cold brew surprisingly very flavourful, it's not too bitter for me. The coffee came in a very smooth texture, no need to add extra sugar actually.

Different like other menu I order, I picked home whole bean coffee to brew it myself. I chose this Spring Season Sakura Blend, it's a dark roast bean from Papua New Guinea and Colombia, sun-dried beans from Ethiopia and aged Sumatra.

Dark roast is mentioned as the longest roasting coffee beans after medium and light roast. It creates a bolder coffee taste and less dense. You need to grind the beans firstly before brew it, so you better prepare a coffee grinder.

I made two versions of coffee with these beans, one was dark coffee and another was coffee milk.

Well the taste was very sweet with a light dark cherry tasting notes, it also had a nice aroma. Most whole bean coffee creates a very strong taste which I don't really like, but this one is not too strong yet too light. This coffee is a definition of cuteness.

I personally think that it's not a good idea to make a coffee milk with these beans, because I don't really like how it taste. It's better to serve it only with sugar or probably little bit of creamer.

Oh and Starbucks has a Buy 1 Get 1 Promo for this whole beans, it's totally worth! Make sure you don't miss the deal !!

BY ANIND - BEST MENTAI SHIRATAKI IN TOWN!!

I'm not exaggerating, it's utterly true!!

If you didn't know what Shirataki is, it's a Japanese noodle made from elephant cassava and konjac. Shirataki can substitute rice for lunch or dinner when you're on a diet because it's healthy and low calories.

This food became very famous around Jakarta and there's a lot of restaurant make this special menu. I pick one of the OG and the best mentai shirataki based on everyone, yes it's BY ANIND.

This start up food company creates mentai shirataki with various toppings and fusion menus. I tried their signature menu:

SALMON KANI MENTAI RICE (IDR 47K) & SALMON KANI MENTAI SHIRATAKI (IDR 54K)

When we first opened it, it smelled very nice and will remind you of your favourite sushi restaurant. Both menus have the same composition of roasted salmon, blow torched mentai sauce, kani (crabstick) and nori but one with rice and another one with shirataki.

Consume it with chilli powder (included) to make it more spicy. The mentai sauce was so creamy and it's salmon was served very fresh. After I tried both rice and shirataki, I still prefer the one with rice but it doesn't mean that the shirataki one is not nice. No, it's very good, one of the most delicious shirataki menu I've tried so far.

For a cheese lover they are available to add extra cheese on it. It's so delicious! Next time I want to grab another menu like shirataki tektek, cheese casserole or fried salmon skin.

My kind of #STAYHOME kit - for a productive day

Hi May!
Hope you're kind to all of us, hope you can cure this pandemic real soon. Here I am, still on our self quarantine for one and a half month. Meanwhile, life must go on even though slowly, still struggling to find any activities to keep being productive. I've turning some part of my home into a reading room and what's next? I sum up some of my favourite things to have that can probably help me (or you) to being productive.

Not So Silly - Sticker & Postcard Book by Naela Ali
Segala-galanya Ambyar by Mark Manson
Bunch of stationaries (Ordners, Scissors, Highlighters)

Well I finally need to set my own working desk at home to make my #workfromhome comfortable daily. So I need this printer to help me deal with paperworks. No more excuses for myself to delay my tasks just because I don't know where to print them down.

Not So Silly - Sticker & Postcard Book is not a novel, it's a file of cute postcards and stickers by one of Indonesian illustrator, Naela Ali. She has one fictional character named Gilly and she creates all of Gilly's facial expressions and other stuffs into cute stickers. She also attach many cute postcards for us to send to our family and friends. It's a fun thing to do sticking a cute stickers on my notebook or anywhere else!

Segala-galanya Ambyar is an Indonesian translated book version of Everything Is F*cked by Mark Manson. This is his second book after The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*ck. He came up with a lot of life philosophy about failure and how to gather yourself after that. This is personal development book but written in an excellent humour and eccentric point of view.

While you have a lot of time at home you probably need to do things you can't while you busy running your daily life. Now it's your time, I bought some stationaries to embrace my creativity in writing and also organising. I took ordners to organise stuffs or important documents that I haven't file it yet like some of my travelling documents on my last trip to Greece or my media portfolios.

Those stuffs help me to fill my free time with creativity and productivity. I organise things, write a note, read books or may be learn drawing. Just do whatever to keep your sanity at home. What's yours?

Stay safe & healthy everyone!
