FOR A BALI FIRST TIMER: what to do, where to go, what to eat

Bali, well, talking about this popular island will never be enough. There's always something new and exciting there. This place guarantees you to feel amazingly need to go back there over and over again.  A whole package you can get from Bali, it's culture, various destinations, beaches and wondrous panorama, all of them are spectacular!

It seems like Bali is one of the destinations that you can enjoy in any time for the whole year, but year end is absolutely the best timing for you to go. Let's go find out a couple of things that I think you need to do if you visit Bali for the first time. Grab your note to list down the fun!

1. 66 Beach (Double Six Beach)

Double Six Beach is one of the never ending happening spot in Bali! What makes it become everyone's favourite is because it's strategic location for a sunset catcher, not too far away from Kuta Beach but way cleaner, nice sand and has a lot of fancy beach bars and restos to chill out. We can find a lot of domestic and foreign tourists here have fun by soaking up the sun, playing by the beach or surfing.

2. Enjoying Denpasar

Why Denpasar? Because you'll see the other side of Bali here, like a lot of local resident here walking on their daily live, here in Denpasar you'll feel more like a citizen rather than a tourist yourself. But don't worry just because it's a common resident area doesn't mean you can't have anywhere to go in Denpasar.

One of the popular worship place among local resident and also tourist is Pura Agung Jagatnatha. Every full moon period, this temple is definitely visited by so many people both for worshipping or just touring around.

Right across Pura Agung Jagatnatha there's Taman Puputan Badung which grow into favourite spot to hang out for locals.

3. For an ART LOVER - Werdhi Budaya Art Centre

This is special for you an art enthusiast! Werdhi Budaya Art Centre is a must visit spot, especially on June-July because they hold Bali Arts Festival as an annual art event. I am so lucky to be able to capture some of BAF 2019 moments when I go there. There's a lot things you can explore here, way from watching art performance until seeing around art gallery.

4. Local Food

BEBEK BETUTU, yes please! Who doesn't know this local food? It's internationally famous! They can proudly have this cuisine for casual or even special occasion. You should appreciate the cooking process of this food, it's unique, quite complicated and can take a long time for it.

First, they should put the duck on a banana leaf then wrap it again with banana midrib, after placing the seasoning they grill it with fiery coals for about 6 to 7 hours. The thing is, trying this dish is a MUST!

Best choice for BEBEK BETUTU:
AYAM BETUTU KHAS GILIMANUK
Jl. Raya Tuban No. 2X
Tuban, Kuta
Kabupaten Badung

5. Everyone's first love in Bali - Kuta Street

I believe it is! Alongside Kuta Street, you can contently shopping a lot of cute things like necklace, bracelet, hats and beach accessories. Here's some of good things that I got from Kuta Street...

Need a place to eat around here? Check this out!

WARUNG MURAH DOUBLE SIX
Jl. Arjuna No. 99
Legian, Kuta
Seminyak

Familiar with Nasi Pedas Ibu Andika? Go try this cheap joint as another option! Mostly served local menus with a very affordable price. What's unique is you will be given a price tag on every food you order, you can give those tags later for payment.

Move away from cheap joint to international cafe, I found a very unique cafe not very far away from Kuta Street area, it's a little bit hidden and don't come here by car cause you have to pass a very little gang way. But this hidden gem is worth to visit!

7. Relishing TARI KECAK

It's time to enjoy Balinese culture. Tari Kecak is an art performance created on 1930's. This dance takes one of the episode of Ramayana story and performed by dozens of man's dancer lined up circle. One of it's characteristic is when all of the dancers raise their both hands and shout "CAK" continously multiple times. The most famous TARI KECAK performance are brought at ULUWATU TEMPLE.
